Job Description:        Fall 2015 – Internship Opportunity (September – December)
40 hours/week with day, night and weekend availability required

PURPOSE: To assist event staff with planning and execution of large events at the Mall of America.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
•Assist event staff with planning and execution of large events.
•Assist with planning phases of the Toddler Tuesdays and Mall Stars programs including booking weekly entertainment, event logistics, execution and budget management.
•Complete promotional recaps that include copies of all event advertising to send out to clients. Research potential event partners and sponsors for annual spectacular events.
•Provide creative ideas to make Mall of America events unique and attractive to draw new customers. Survey event participants to find best advertising/promotion medium.
•Ability to perform physical tasks such as pulling pallets, walking extensively, moving boxes, etc.
•Assist with organization of event video and photo archives.
•Fulfill requests for event information and event proposals received via email and voice mail.
•Fulfill donation requests.
•Opportunity to coordinate small scale events.
•Due to the company’s team focus, you may be asked to help out in other areas, performing other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
•Perform other duties as assigned

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
•Recent graduate or currently pursuing degree in Marketing, Advertising, Hospitality, Public Relations or Communications.
•Experience in event planning and execution. Experience can include internships and extracurricular activities/events.
•Strong organization skills.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
•Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, email.
•Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends, evenings and holidays.
